Hello & welcome!
My name is Ingrid-Derrick Lewis. I began with New Haven Works as a volunteer in 2013, and am now Executive Director. I’m inspired by the ways that employment transforms the lives of New Haveners. Our city’s talented residents are full of potential. New Haven Works exists to connect employers to this dedicated local workforce. We have placed thousands of individuals into jobs, developed deep relationships with employers, and built our city’s middle class.
Our work is just beginning. New Haven’s economy is becoming more dynamic, but the cost of living is also increasing. Our work allows residents and employers to thrive together. Join us!

Our free services includes a Job Coach, individualized career support, employer networking events, referrals to training and education programs, and screening services. We connect motivated job seekers with local employers who are committed to hiring New Haven Works talent.
For Employers
We help employers find talented, dedicated candidates. New Haven Works recruits, screens, and develops qualified applicants for your specific staffing needs. We work with hundreds of highly motivated job seekers who are ready to succeed on the job.
For New Haven, by New Haven
Everything we do is rooted in care for New Haven. We work exclusively with New Haven residents, because we believe that investing in local talent is the most direct path to a stronger, more equitable economy. When residents find good jobs, they spend locally, support their families, and contribute to the fabric of the community. When employers hire locally, they build more connected and committed teams. New Haven Works exists at that intersection, turning local talent into local opportunity.
