How the Partnership Works
New Haven Works helps prepare and refer eligible members for a variety of employment opportunities at Yale University. Members may receive support with:

Employment Pathways at Yale
Direct Hire Opportunities
New Haven Works assists qualified members with applying directly to Yale positions by providing resume support, interview preparation, application guidance, and referrals when appropriate. Members are encouraged to work closely with their Job Coach to identify opportunities aligned with their experience, skills, and long-term career goals.
Temporary Opportunities
Many New Haven residents begin their Yale careers through temporary assignments that offer valuable workplace experience, exposure to university departments, professional networking opportunities, and pathways to longer-term employment. These opportunities can help members strengthen their candidacy while building familiarity with Yale’s work environment and hiring systems.
Workforce Pathway Programs
New Haven Works collaborates with Yale University and UniteHERE union partners to help connect eligible members to paid workforce pathway programs designed around positions Yale hires for regularly. These programs combine hands-on experience, job-specific skill development, and professional growth opportunities that help participants build strong foundations for employment at Yale and beyond.
